Need an absolute wall of noise? Molaris is your pedal. Seriously, this thing is loud. Built around two LM386 amplifiers, cranked to their absolute limits, Molaris can provide tones from a crushing, full frequency doom sound, to a stone grinding distortion that gives the pedal its name. It can even provide you with a pleasant overdrive, if that’s your thing. Molaris even features a high quality JFET buffer to protect your tone from long cable runs.
Despite its simplicity, Molaris is surprisingly versatile. The grit control sets the maximum level of distortion - you can then use your instrument volume to fine tune. The bite switch controls a low pass filter between the two amplifiers, changing the frequency response between 235Hz and 1065Hz. This allows Molaris to switch between a doom machine and a full throated roar, reminiscent of our favourite prehistoric megafauna. The level control is there to protect your equipment - Molaris is loud! Start with level around 9 o’clock, and increase to taste. Unity should be between 10 o’clock and noon.
